Inspiration from Sabrina

Workplace Scenarios

As you work on these scenarios, think about professional communication skills. Be professional and personable. Be sure to provide enough explanation for your reader to understand the complete message, ask clear questions if you need more information, and outline the actions you will take.

Hello,

I visited your office on Tuesday for a bad cough and sore throat. I was charged $100 for the office visit. But when I checked my credit card statement, the charge was $1000.00. I know I signed the charge receipt but I felt like crap and just didn’t pay attention. Can you please fix this charge right away?

Thanks, Bob Smith

WORD documents

(Save both to Dropbox and email to Liz as PDF attachments)

1. Notice to be posted at front desk:
  • The cost of sports physicals will increase from $35 to $50 for the 2018 Fall sports season. You want to word this in a way that appreciates clients for their business but also acknowledges the rising cost of business.

2. Flyer to be hung around town (library, grocery stores, etc)
  • Wellness Blood Screening  Special - $15 for month of May - Include reasons why people would want to do this blood screening. Check out the St John's website page on wellness blood screening for some ideas.

PowerPoint Presentations

      1. Where you started
      2. How you grew
      3. How you will continue to grow
This should be more than three slides. Develop each of the three points in a way that shows your individual hard work and your incredible individual potential! Include images that complement the text. Slides should be words and phrases (not sentences and paragraphs) that help your audience follow along with your presentation.

(If extra time...)

2. How is your growing confidence impacting your computer skills/abilities?

3. How are you feeling about using your computer/office skills in the "real" workplace?
